Tunisia announces the resumption of tourist flights from April 19



Tunisian Minister of Tourism Habib Ammar announced the resumption of tourist trips to travel agencies, starting from April 19, in light of the improvement in the epidemiological situation in the country, and during a press conference following a meeting of the Coronavirus Committee, the minister explained that the resumption of the trips will be according to a protocol and procedures that will be set later in coordination with the Ministry of Health. Tourist trips returned for a short period in the summer of 2020 after the closure measures that accompanied the first wave of the Corona pandemic, before they stopped again with the spread of the deadly virus more quickly during the second wave.


Ammar said: "This period of the season is considered very important for the tourism sector, given that all tourist destinations begin to present their offers," noting that Tunisia is a well-known destination in the Mediterranean and must be ready. The Minister of Tourism added that the Tunisian destination should be It is competitive in terms of entry and entry conditions, and is safe from the health point of view. He continued: "We hope that the vaccination schedule will be more rapid," explaining that progressing more quickly in vaccination will give greater attractiveness to the Tunisian tourist destination.


The vital tourism sector is the sector most affected by the Corona pandemic, and thousands of craftsmen active in the tourism markets, artists and professionals in the cultural sector have also been affected.


According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, the sector decreased by 65 percent in revenues in 2020 compared to 2019, and the number of arrivals decreased by about 80 percent.
