55.2% of work injuries in the manufacturing industries activity for the first half of 2020


Today, Tuesday, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics issued a press release on the occasion of the International Day for Safety and Health in the Workplace, which is celebrated on April 28 of each year, the day the trade union movement in the world linked to the memory of victims of accidents and occupational diseases.


The manufacturing activity accounted for the largest percentage of the number of work-related injuries, with a rate of 55.2%, followed by the transportation and storage activity with 9.0% of the total number of injuries for the first half of 2020, and the highest percentage of work-related injuries in the professions of technicians and assistant specialists was 35.1%. This is followed by the profession of factory operating workers and machine operators, which accounted for 22.7% of the total number of cases of infection for the first half of 2020.


Among the most important statistical indicators, the total number of work-related injuries reached 4,956 cases for the first half of 2020, and the number of work-related injuries in the government sector reached 685, or 13.8%.


The number of work-related injuries cases in the public sector / public business reached 1929, a case of 38.9%, and the number of work-related injuries cases in the private sector (50 workers or more) reached 2159 cases, or 43.6%, and the number of work-related injuries in the investment sector reached 183, representing 3.7%. The total number of work-related injuries cases for males reached 4437, by 89.5%, compared to 519 cases for females, 10.5% of the total number of injuries for the first half of 2020.


The highest percentage of work-related injuries was 29.6%, followed by (error or collision with things) at 22.7% of the total number of injuries for the first half of 2020, and the percentage of recoveries without disability was 81.7% of the total number of injuries, and it reached The percentage of cases under treatment is 15.7% of the total number of cases, and the percentage of disability recoveries is 1.5% of the total number of cases, and the death rate is 1.1% of the total number of cases.
