The tribes of Warfalla call on the Libyan prime minister to postpone his visit to Bani Walid

The Social Council of the Libyan tribes of Warfalla demanded, today, Tuesday, the necessity to postpone the visit of the head of the interim national unity government, Abdel-Hamid al-Dabaiba, to the city of Bani Walid next Thursday.

The Social Council for the Tribes of Warfalla confirmed in a statement that the Council welcomed the planned visit of the Prime Minister, noting that his request to postpone the visit aims to not be of a routine and sudden nature, pointing out that he is in a solution of this visit and the consequences of it.

The head of the national unity government, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, is seeking to visit the city of Bani Walid to meet with a number of sheikhs and elders of the Warfalla tribes - the largest of Libya's tribes - to discuss a number of files, most notably the national reconciliation.

The number of tribesmen of Warfalla is about 800 thousand people, which represents one fifth of the population of Libya, which is estimated at about 6 million people, according to the last official statistics. The tribes of Warfalla are one of the most prominent Libyan tribes active in the political, military and social scene, and it has a prominent presence in all issues.
