Biden after meeting Queen Elizabeth: She reminds me of my mother... and I invited her to visit the White House

US President Joe Biden told reporters that Queen Elizabeth II reminded him of his mother shortly after he met him at Windsor Castle a while ago.

After concluding a summit with the Group of Seven nations, President Biden headed to Windsor Castle with First Lady Jill Biden, where they were greeted by the Queen.

Biden joined the Queen and the First Lady to watch a military parade After that, the three went to the Queen's suite for tea. Speaking on the runway at London Heathrow Airport to reporters after his visit, he said the Queen "was very gracious."

"I don't think she would be angry or offended by this, but she reminded me of my mother... in terms of her looks and generosity," he added.

Biden said Queen Elizabeth II wanted to know more about Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Biden is scheduled to meet Putin at a bilateral summit in Switzerland after attending the NATO summit in Brussels.

Queen Elizabeth also asked Biden what the White House would look like, and Biden assured reporters that he had invited her to the White House.

The US president spent four nights in the UK meeting foreign leaders including British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron and is now heading to Brussels for Monday's NATO summit.
