Iraqi immigration: the decision to return the displaced people of Al-Hol camp is in the hands of the security authorities


The Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement revealed that the security authorities are responsible for the decision to return the displaced people of Al-Hol camp to Iraqi territory.

 

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, Karim Al-Nouri, said - in a statement reported by Alsumaria News Channel - that "the decision to return the displaced people of Al-Hol camp is in the hands of the security authorities exclusively, while the Ministry of Migration's role is limited to sheltering and providing relief supplies in coordination with UN and international organizations," explaining, "We do not have the authority to Issuing decisions to determine the fate of the displaced and refugees, whether to bring them in or remove them from Iraqi territory.

 

It is noteworthy that 100 families, comprising 500 people, returned from the Syrian Al-Hol camp to Al-Jada'a camp in Nineveh Governorate last May.
