Japanese newspaper: America's first lady attends the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics

The Japanese newspaper "Yomiuri Shimbun" reported that the United States and Japan are making the necessary arrangements for US First Lady Jill Biden to attend the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, but it is unlikely that US President Joe Pine will accompany her on this visit.

The newspaper said, without disclosing the sources from which the news was drawn, that the two governments are considering the attendance of the US President's wife for the opening ceremony scheduled for next July 23, and that she held a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.

Japan is the largest ally of the United States in Asia, and Biden has expressed his support for Suga's insistence on holding the Tokyo Olympics in the midst of the Corona pandemic.
