Reports: Adjusting the timing of the Al-Ahly and Esperance match in the African Champions League semi-finals


Press reports revealed that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will make an amendment to the date of the Al-Ahly and Esperance match in the first leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League.


Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly’s director of football, announced, earlier, the deadline for the Al-Ahly and Esperance match, which will be held in Tunisia on June 19, and that the return match will be held in Cairo on the 26th of the same month, and the Confederation of African Football had set a date. In principle, for the Champions League semi-finals, June 18 and 25, before the date is modified.


And the Tunisian “footballtunisien” website said that there were some leaks that emerged from the walls of the Confederation of African Football about a change in the date of the Al-Ahly match and the Tunisian Esperance.


The site indicated that so far, the two clubs have not been notified of any official letters, whether to amend the date of the match or the possibility of the fans attending, in light of the petition submitted by Esperance to attend some fans in the face of the go.


Al-Ahly club succeeded in qualifying for the semi-finals of the African Champions League, after toppling the South African Sun Downs, while the Tunisian Esperance defeated the Algerian youth of Belouizdad in the quarter-finals on penalties.


Al-Ahly club hopes to crown the tenth title in its history in the African Champions League, and to preserve the title it holds after beating Zamalek with two goals against a goal in the final of the last edition.
