Germany allocates about $800 million for humanitarian projects in Syria

Germany has allocated nearly $800 million to humanitarian projects in Syria, with more than a quarter of this funding received by the World Food Program that provides food for the internally displaced.

A statement by the German embassy in Cairo stated on the social networking site (Facebook) today that the war in Syria during the ten years has led to two out of every three people starving there, and the displaced Syrians in the same country and the refugees from them in the neighboring countries depend on humanitarian aid.

He said that Germany, as one of the largest donors, bears the responsibility in the region - Syria - regardless of political considerations.
