A meeting between Al-Anani and the Ambassador of the State of Japan to discuss means of cooperation between the two countries

Today, Dr. Khaled El-Anany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, received at the ministry’s headquarters in Zamalek, Ambassador of Japan Noki Masaki in Cairo, to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation between the two countries on the tourism and archaeological level during the coming period, in the presence of Anna Yoshifumi Omura, the main representative of JICA’s office in Egypt.


During the meeting, the latest developments in the works at the Grand Egyptian Museum and the development of engineering and archaeological works were discussed, as well as the possibility of strengthening the museum with experts from the State of Japan in various fields in light of the depth of Egyptian-Japanese relations and the friendship between the two peoples.


The meeting also touched upon discussing boosting the incoming tourist movement to Egypt from Japan, especially with the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, given that the Japanese tourist has great passion and interest in the cultural tourism product and visiting archaeological sites in general and in Egypt in particular.
